Chamber Music Workshop

Enhance your chamber music skills and love of music while working with some of Canada’s finest chamber musicians and like-minded colleagues in this one-week string chamber music workshop.

Participants enjoy daily coaching sessions on their chosen chamber music work as well as afternoon sessions playing masterworks for a larger ensemble together with the coaches. There are evening concerts and opportunities for enjoying informal music sessions with the other participants. Lunches are provided each day as well as the Sunday evening dinner. Participants perform on Saturday morning to finish off the week’s workshop.

Who can apply?

Groups and players of all levels and experience are welcome to apply. Preference is given to pre-formed ensembles. We will help as is possible to connect individuals who are interested and don’t yet have a group. Application deadline is April 1.

What is the cost?

Tuition for the workshop, which includes daily lunches, guest artist concerts and the welcome dinner, is $485 CDN per person. Limited bursaries are available for students. Cost does not include travel, other meals and accommodation.

Where is the workshop held?

Held in the picturesque coastal village of Sooke on the incredible southern coast of Vancouver Island. We encourage workshop participants to bring their families along to enjoy the activities and all that the Sooke area has to offer.
